Company
History

Rupert Hölldobler opens a car repair shop in an old barn
in Leipheim in 1950 after returning from war captivity.
The increased traffic on the A8 soon gives rise to a towing service and allows the business to expand. A FINA gas station is added in 1958.

In 1970, a new building is constructed in Ulmer Straße (Leipheim) for the company’s (then and current) headquarters. Son Stefan Hölldobler creates a mobile crane division in 1994 by purchasing a 70-ton truck crane.

Stefan Hölldobler is appointed Managing Director in 1992. In 1999, he acquires the business. Hölldobler becomes a limited liability company in 2002. Ongoing expansion activity – with a total of eight divisions at six locations – continues the Hölldobler success story.

With twenty employees, the competent and reliable Hölldobler team offers a comprehensive package that far exceeds the company’s beginning strengths in towing, recovery, and crane service.

It goes without saying that we are a certified member of the German VBA association of recovery and towing companies.
